Printer troubleshooting

The Canon Printer and Ricoh printers/copiers are all on our server. Jon has written instructions on how to install these printers on your computer. Have a read and if you are still unsure check in with one of the ICT team.

Printer Troubleshooting
If having problems printing to the Ricoh printer (in Admin), check to see that you have a valid access code in your printer properties.
  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on Devices and Printers
  3. Right-click on RICOH Aficio MP C2800 PCL5c
  4. Left-click on Printer Properties
  5. Click on the Preferences... button
  6. Click on "Valid Access" tab
  7. Under User Code, there should be your 5 digit code
  8. If no code, enter your 5 digit code, click OK

There has been a change of colour printers on the network. To check to see if you have the latest colour printer installed, do the following:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on Devices and Printers
  3. If there are no exclamation marks you are all set up
  4. If you have an exclamation mark beside the RICOH printer, you will need to do the following:
  5. Right click the printer, and left click Remove Device

You will need to install the latest printer:

  1. Click on the Start button
  2. Click on Computer (right-hand side)
  3. In the address panel, type: file://server1/
  4. This will take you to a window, showing all the printers on the server
  5. Double click on Admin RICOH MP C2800 Colour
  6. You will now be set up.
